Its the 8th anniversary of the Plaid Avengers existence, and his international reporting and insight is needed more than ever! For this third installment of the Plaid Avenger educational graphic novel series, we go all out digital and interactive in order to increase the learning potential: the classic comic format is merely the base from which we incorporate pop-up videos, maps, graphics, and lots of hidden features that compliment the narrative while allowing the user to learn much, much more detail about select background aspects of the real world story.

For this adventure, we decided to take on one of the most critical issues in US security, but one that is not well understood or reported on: the Mexican drug cartel war. Fueled by America’s war on drugs, funded by America’s drug habit, and fought with weapons smuggled over the American border, this war is the closest to home and yet extremely misunderstood by the American people and policy-makers alike. Our primary goal with this print edition and digital interactive comic book is to present a more narrative approach to explaining the situation south of our border, creating an environment that encourages readers to expand their knowledge further while enjoying the classic campy comic story.

You, the reader, are in control of how you view the story, as well as how much more info you want to consume, looking for the items embedded throughout the story.
